Back in April 2007, NBA referee Joey Crawford ejected San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan for laughing while sitting on the bench. He awarded two technicals to Tim Duncan in a very shot span of time forcing him to leave the game.
Unfortunately for Joey Crawford, he was the one who get ejected. He would miss all of the playoffs that year as NBA commissioner David Stern suspended Joey Crawford.

Joey Crawford has shown his temper before, like he did in game 2 of the 2003 Western Conference Finals when he called four technical fouls in the first 10 minutes of the game and threw out Dallas coach Don Nelson. Watch the wired version of Joey Crawford ejecting Don Nelson.

For Joey Crawford it was also a turn of events. Joey Crawford went to see a sports psychologist after having been suspended by the NBA. That helped him change the way he handled his job as well as with his anger management issues.

“The Duncan thing probably changed my life,” Crawford tells the Times. “It was just — you come to the realization that maybe the way you’ve been doing things is not the proper way and you have to regroup, not only on the court but off the court."

NBA referee Joey Crawford shows humor at LA Lakers game http://nba-referees-wired.com/videos/nba-referee-joey-crawford-having-fun http://nba-referees-wired.com/videos/nba-referee-joey-crawford-having-fun NBA referee Joey Crawford shows humor at LA Lakers game

NBA referee Joey Crawford is back! The first clip is from 2004 NBA Playoffs when the Minnesota Timberwolves were at their best. Crawford spends an awful amount of time on a jump ball sitatuation involving Shaquille O'Neal.Hudson gets to understand why the small reach-in fouls are being called.

NBA referee Steve Javie also has a very calm talk with Spurs power forward Tim Duncan and then he talks to a slightly frustrated Lakers guard Derek Fisher. Fisher wants to get a small touch-foul called but Steve Javie replies that he has never called that in 16 year. Derek Fisher accepts Javie's answer.

NBA referee Danny Crawford explains to Sacramento Kings forward Chris Webber how to get two technicals and not get ejected. Chris Webber had just gotten a technical foul for hanging on the rim after dunking the ball and that type technical foul does not count as an unsportsmanlike technical. Crawford tells Webber that he can still yell at him and get a technical and will still not be ejected.
They both end up smiling.

Kendall Gill is one of the NBA leaders in steals historically and he lets Joey Crawford know.

Finally, Joey Crawford accidently says "offense" but he thinks that he said "outside there". That ends up in a small discussion, even with Hugh Jackman who is sitting courtside in this NBA game.

NBA referee Joey Crawford with money in his pocket http://nba-referees-wired.com/videos/nba-referees-wired-with-joey-crawford http://nba-referees-wired.com/videos/nba-referees-wired-with-joey-crawford Joey Crawford discussing with Tim Duncan

This video was originally broadcasted as part of the halftime show in game 1 of the first round matchup between the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks in the 2004 NBA Playoffs.

The Sacramento Kings ended up winning the game against the Dallas Mavericks 116-105 in Arco Arena shooting 53% from the field. The Kings roster featured serbian player Vlade Divac who was also featured in this video. Angry - apparantly - about his bad defense, he decides to spike the ball and winds up getting a technical foul called by NBA referee Bennett Salvatore. Divac complains to Salvatore who explains that if the had not come down he would not have called the technical foul. They end up smiling about the entire thing during halftime.

Another question that will probably never be answered is why NBA referee Joey Crawford has money in his pocket while officiating an NBA game? And why does he buy a beer to a woman's husband who is really just a spectator of the game?
Joey Crawford also has a discussion with Tim Duncan. Just a few laters Joey Crawford ejected Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench. Joey Crawford was suspended for refereeing the remaining games of that season, including the entire 2007 NBA Playoffs.

NBA referee Dick Bavetta is seen talking to both Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis and Detroit Pistons power forward Rasheed Wallace, as he tries to stay neutral. Rasheed Wallace is known as quite the talker but Dick Bavetta seems to have an answer for everything.

NBA Referee Bob Delaney tells Grant Hill of the Orlando Magic that he is wired and that the last time he was wired people went to jail. That is of course a reference to Bob Delaney's previous job as an undercover officer with the New Jersey State Police.
